After the Earthquake

From Pignon we started Mothers Clubs in several northern Haiti communities. After the tragic earthquake in 2010 Mothers Clubs expanded even further, making Jeremie our home, and Sister Emile Ninoche our Coordinator. Sr. Emile, a Haitian Catholic nun gathered a very committed and competent staff and, with your generous donations, began expanding the program.
We had two goals:
1. Respond to rural communities requesting Mothers Clubs with training and start-up funds for loans. (We are now in more than 14 communities).
2. Become independent so Mothers Clubs can grow into the future. (The staff is now financially able to meet 80% its administrative needs through five small businesses. This means almost all donated funds go to the poorest rural Haitian families. We, in the U.S., are all volunteers).
